Job summary

Sonoma Post Acute is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to plan, direct, and optimize the Maintenance Department across the facility. You will lead a team, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with Dietary, Nursing, and Activities to ensure a safe, well-maintained environment.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, blueprints literacy, and knowledge of building codes with a focus on infection control and universal precautions in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years supervisory maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs, and activities.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments.
• Maintain safety and fire protection programs and inspect work areas weekly.
• Ensure compliance with MSDS labeling, hazardous chemical handling, and training.
• Prepare and manage the Maintenance Department budget for equipment, supplies, and labor.
• Inspect facilities and coordinate vendor work to meet contract obligations.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and support emergency preparedness.
