Job summary

Orchard Post AcuteVIEW in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Maintenance Director to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department in our skilled nursing facility. Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance/plant-related position.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Strong decision-making and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and direct the Maintenance Department programs and activities.
• Ensure maintenance schedules are followed and policies documented.
• Coordinate maintenance services with Diet/ Nursing/ Activities and other departments.
• Supervise safety and fire protection programs; enforce safety equipment usage.
• Review maintenance deficiencies identified in surveys and plan corrective actions.
• Ensure external vendors meet contracts/work orders and are supervised.
• Maintain equipment and facility upkeep; monitor supplies and costs.
• Prepare and manage the Maintenance Department budget.
