Job summary

The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a public benefit corporation and the nation’s largest municipal Housing Finance Agency. HDC’s programs support the construction and preservation of multi-family affordable housing in New York City.

The Office & Facilities Manager supports daily office operations and reports to the Chief of Office & Facilities Management. The role oversees maintenance of the office space, coordinates vendor services, budgets, and seating.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience providing operational support in a professional office setting.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Knowledge of expense control and financial management.
  • Knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, driving experience and be able to drive if needed.
  • Ability to perform hands on tasks and lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, directing maintenance activities and ensuring safety and functionality of the office space infrastructure.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and services for building systems such as HVAC, lighting, electrical and plumbing.
  • Support development and implementation of departmental goals, policies, and plans in line with corporate objectives and internal procedures.
  • Assist in developing, administering, and overseeing departmental budgets.
  • Serve as a point of contact for office-related requests and coordinate seating for new hires and moves.
  • Assist in vendor selection and purchasing of office equipment and supplies; manage contracts and procedures.
  • Maintain corporate insurance policies, file claims, and review insurance proofs from contractors.
  • Facilitate office renovation projects, including design, permits, installation, and space development.
