Job summary

The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking a Physical Plant Service Worker I to perform a variety of manual tasks to complete work orders on campus. This role supports campus operations and maintenance across university facilities.

You will load/unload furniture and equipment, move items between buildings, drive trucks, perform custodial duties, basic painting and construction, and participate in safety training. A background check and valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field.
• One (1) year of related work experience.
• This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work with supervision from the crew leader.
• Works as a team member to load, unload, and move furniture and equipment at different locations including file cabinets, supplies, and mail among university buildings; sets up and tears down all necessary furniture for special functions.
• Drives trucks and operates power equipment on trucks and transports equipment to be salvaged.
• Performs custodial duties and basic painting and construction work.
• Promotes safety and environmental protection by immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating in appropriate safety training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
