Job summary

UT Health Sciences is seeking a Maintenance Helper to move University office furniture, non-sensitive lab equipment, and healthcare equipment for staff, faculty, or students. This Essential Services role supports campus operations and safety, helping sustain critical infrastructure and continuous operations.

Responsibilities include loading, transporting, driving UT vehicles, setting up for events, relocating surplus property, and performing outdoor/indoor physical labor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
• Six (6) months of satisfactory work performance in a moving company or experience in a related area. Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to operate a standard shift truck.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to perform physical labor outside and inside for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Moves and transports office furniture, laboratory equipment, health care equipment and other equipment or supplies.
• Drives UT vehicles to various locations in the process of transferring or storing University property equipment, or supplies.
• Assists in the relocation of surplus property.
• Sets up, arranges, or takes down equipment for special events.
• Assists in the cleanup of construction sites.
• Removes snow, ice, and debris during inclement weather from parking garages, sidewalks, and other areas.
• Performs other duties as required.
