Position Summary and Purpose

This position is responsible for organizing, directing, and monitoring the strategic and operational activities of the Facility Management Group at multiple clinic locations and other facilities. Responsibility may include plant operations, housekeeping, security, environmental safety, construction and other duties as assigned. The purpose of this position is to provide a quality, cost effective program that meets or exceeds the quality and financial end user. This position is responsible for providing the customer with an aggressive program that lowers their annual maintenance cost, increases equipment life cycles, and above all, provides the highest level of customer service. Planning and coordinating all installations and refurbishments. Inspecting buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.

Essential Functions:

1. 1. Oversees operations of the facility management by: conducting quarterly department head visits and meetings; ensuring that reports are delivered in a timely manner; providing a working environment that meets all OSHA guidelines; and completing and maintaining all performance indicators at or above program targets.
2. 2. Develops manages and monitors budgets, verifies and assures appropriate use of staff, materials, supplies and vendors. Ensures that current records of all maintenance procedures are kept as required to meet all applicable codes and standards. Implements record keeping, cost effective measures, inventory control and standards of performance and productivity for self and staff to use time effectively and meet program requirements.
3. 3. Ensures financial performance of department by: attaining all expense budgets and cost containment targets; ensuring that expenditure authority and level are adhered to; and forwarding, in a timely manner, all appropriate PO's, invoices and financial details to the appropriate sources.
4. 4. Manages and oversees the recruitment, training and development of staff. This includes holding all necessary staff meetings; providing written measurable objectives; coordinating vacation, sick days etc.; and performing midyear and annual performance evaluations.
5. 5. Ensures smooth communications and reporting. This includes conducting all necessary meetings with facility administration and forwarding all positive and negative customer/vendor communications to Executive Director for review. Provides monthly reports to Executive Director. Provides reports as requested to hospital leadership.
6. 6. Maintains positive working relationships with clinic administration.
7. 7. Provides professional team and personal growth that meets the needs of the customer and employees.
8. 8. Networks with peers to gain innovative ideas and sourcing of information.
9. 9. Seeks involvement in quality and/or other initiatives within the department
10. 10. Actively participates in construction related activities including a primary role in the development and implementation of the Master Facility Plan, as required.
11. 11. The person in this position serves as the facility safety officer, as required.
