Job summary

On With Life is seeking a full-time Facilities Manager/Safety Officer to supervise the Facilities Department across five Iowa campuses, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and oversees maintenance, safety programs, budgeting, and staff performance across Ankeny, Des Moines, Coralville, Polk City, and the New Horizons Center.

Responsibilities include managing preventive maintenance, emergency planning, Life Safety Code and OSHA

Qualifications

• Must be able to supervise and direct the Facilities Department.
• Experience coordinating across multiple campuses is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds, budgeting, and planning for repairs and new construction.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs, safety trainings, policies, emergency planning, and drills.
• Monitor Life Safety Code and OSHA compliance and provide technical expertise.
• Oversee Facilities Staff, including hiring and evaluation.
• Be on-call for emergency maintenance-related situations.

Currently seeking a full-time Facilities Manager/Safety Officerto provide overall supervision and direction to the Facilities Department.

Position Highlights:

• Hours: Flexible start/end times (6-8a to 3-5p)
• Schedule: Full-time Monday-Fri, 40 hours/week
• Location: Overall responsibility for 5 campuses in Iowa:
  • Ankeny 1- 3 buildings - Inpatient, Outpatient, and OWL Creek Apartments
  • Ankeny 2- 1 building, New Horizons Adult Day Center
  • Polk City - 1 building, Long Term Care
  • Des Moines - 1 building, Residential Neuro Rehabilitation
  • Coralville - 1 building, Outpatient

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, primary responsibilities of the Facilities Manager/Safety Officer include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining buildings and grounds, including budgeting and planning for repairs, improvements, and new construction
• Maintaining preventative maintenance programs, safety trainings and policies, emergency planning, and drill schedules
• Monitoring safety and health regulations, includingLife Safety Code and OSHA, and providing technical expertise to ensure compliance
• Oversight of Facilities Staff, including hiring and evaluation
• On-call for emergency maintenance-related situations only
