Job summary

Quantum Space in Hawthorne, CA seeks a Facilities Manager to own the operation, reliability, and expansion of our engineering and test facilities. You will ensure infrastructure is robust, safe, and scalable to support hardware development and on‑test activities.

Responsibilities include managing HVAC, utilities, and vendor partnerships, coordinating with engineering teams, and leading maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–10+ years managing technical facilities (lab, aerospace, manufacturing, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of building systems and infrastructure.
• Experience with contractor/vendor management.
• Work location within Hawthorne, CA area.

Responsibilities

• Own facility operations: HVAC, electrical, compressed gases, vacuum infrastructure, and general utilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NFPA, local codes).
• Plan and execute facility upgrades to support spacecraft development and test.
• Coordinate infrastructure needs with engineering teams (power, cooling, vacuum, test setups).
• Manage vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
• Develop and manage maintenance programs and facility reliability plans.
• Support lab buildouts, test stand installation, and infrastructure integration.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and project execution for facility improvements.
