Job summary

AVS Bio is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee all maintenance department operations at our Voluntown, CT sites. You will manage projects, supervise the maintenance crew, coordinate with production management, and ensure biosecurity and regulatory compliance across plant structures and utility systems.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance skills, and experience in engineering or construction trades.

Qualifications

• Five years related experience, preferably in engineering or construction trades.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred; GED/HS diploma accepted with experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recycling plans and coordinate with farm/production management.
• Oversee recycling, construction, and repair projects; act as Project Manager.
• Direct day-to-day maintenance operations and supervise staff workload.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, electrical, water/sewage, etc.).
• Coordinate purchasing and contractor services; enforce biosecurity & EHS guidelines.
• Represent the company at meetings; respond to alarms and emergencies as needed.
• Develop budgets and approve expenditures; manage performance reviews.
