Job summary

Hyve Solutions is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee grounds, building, and equipment, ensuring safety and functionality. The role includes negotiating contracts, inspecting facilities for safety, and coordinating renovations.

You will lead maintenance activities, manage SLAs, and collaborate on budgets to support operations. The position requires prioritizing safety, improving facilities processes, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent.
  • Electrician experience preferred but not fully required.
  • Experience with building operations growth and/or systems development.
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions for facilities management.
  • Strong procurement and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to track operational metrics for power consumption, equipment and building maintenance expenditures.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to work extended shifts and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure performance and safety.
  • Create detailed reports on maintenance activities and safety issues.
  • Manage contractors, quotes, price negotiations, and SLAs to ensure compliance with budgets and operations.
  • Delegate cleaning, facilities, and maintenance tasks to team members and stakeholders.
  • Monitor interior and exterior areas for safety and cleanliness.
  • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensure proper security measures for the workplace and coordinate with security vendors.
  • Maintain day-to-day operations of facilities and recycling programs.
  • Prepare the building for changing weather conditions.
  • Collaborate with upper management on budgeting for facility needs.
  • Ensure facility compliance with OSHA, 5S, environmental and safety policies.

The Facilities Maintenance Manager, maintains and oversees a company’s grounds, building and equipment to ensure that the workspace is safe and functional. Their duties include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates. This manager also oversees the performance of many maintenance tasks that promote a clean and organized working environment for the building’s employees, including:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Manage and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and maintain safety and operational standards.
  • Create detailed reports on maintenance activities, repairs, safety issues, and other facilities-related matters, while conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage contractors, service quotations, price negotiations, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure compliance with all facilities and maintenance-related activities, budgets, and operational requirements.
  • Delegate cleaning, facilities, and maintenance-related tasks to team members and stakeholders to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces.
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
  • Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities and recycling programs, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
  • Preparing the building for changing weather conditions.
  • Collaborating with upper management on budgeting for facility needs.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained in compliance with industry standards, OSHA regulations, 5S principles, environmental and safety policies, preventive maintenance programs, and company operational procedures.
Job Specifications
Education and Work Experience
  • 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent functions.
  • Electrician experience is preferred but not fully required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with building operations growth and/or systems development.
  • Mechanical knowledge and work experience
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
  • Strong procurement and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical recording tools to track and present operational metrics for power consumption, equipment and building maintenance expenditures.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work extended shifts and Saturdays as required

Salary: $76 - $110K
