Plant Facilities and Utilities Manager

Your Opportunity as Utilities and Facilities Manager

Responsibility for all plant utility facility and life safety systems. Lead the utilities team and the Utilities Process Engineer in assuring continuous operational coverage and maintenance for these systems. This includes equipment specification and maintenance instruction and coaching on proper operation technician development troubleshooting and repair to achieve or exceed reliability targets and technical support on future expansion projects.

Responsibilities
  • Location: Scottsville KY
  • Work Arrangements: 100% onsite
  • Responsible for overall success of plant utilities facilities and life safety systems
  • Maintains compliance with permits and relationships with regulatory agencies and outside utility providers
  • Participates in daily directional setting meetings communicates issues and action plans relative to plant utility systems
  • Manages the plant utility team and Utilities Process Engineer including providing daily direction priorities coaching and feedback
  • Provides continued team development through diverse education and coaching on the technical elements of facility operation with the focus of developing team members
  • Owns utility cost results gap analysis and improvement plan at the plant level
  • Prioritizes mechanical and electrical work of the utilities maintenance resources to maintain plant
  • Member of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) pillar team
  • Responsible for maintenance planning and spare parts strategy within the department leveraging the use of Oracle eAM
  • Develops capital improvement projects associated with the utility systems both for efficiency and cost reduction improvements
  • Responsible for the plant's wastewater treatment facility and its reliable operation
  • Owner of technical documentation for utilities and facilities
  • Owns PSM results for facility including maintaining the ammonia refrigeration PSM program and assuring compliance with EPA OSHA and other applicable regulatory agencies all driven by the Utilities Process Engineer

What we are looking for
Minimum Requirements
  • 4-year technical degree and/or significant demonstrated experience
  • 3+ years of plant utilities systems experience
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
  • Technical knowledge of the following systems: Boilers compressors HVAC ammonia refrigeration combustion systems electrical distribution water and sewer systems fire systems and misc. facility systems
  • Experience leading teaching or managing others effectively
  • Ability to work and manage within a team environment
  • Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Strong organizational critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
Additional skills and experience
  • Experience in environmental management including specific knowledge in ammonia refrigeration air emission reporting wastewater spill containment and control (SPCC) and chemical reporting for State Emergency Response
  • Familiar with contract management relative to predictive technologies (infrared vibration oil etc.) and outside technical contract services (ability to identify the proper technology at the correct frequency)
  • Proficient with Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (eAM)
  • Experience with high-performance work systems (SQMS)
  • Ability to organize and prioritize actions to help meet plant objectives and long-term vision
  • Effective presentation verbal and written communication skills
