  • Inspect construction, repairs, and work orders to ensure timely, compliant completion.

Facilities Manager

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Fort Wayne leadership team in the role of Facilities Manager.

Serves as the business unit facility leader in planning and developing facilities and new construction. Directs projects (e.g. site repairs/construction, preventive maintenance, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring completion within established time frames, project design and budget. Exercises optimal utilization of personnel and other resources. Oversees the functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, NFPA, NEX, LS, and elevators. Oversees contractors for facility renovation projects entailing HVAC, electrical systems, and production floor arrangement. Inspects new construction, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and supplies for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently; specifications for major capital improvements are within local/state/federal regulations; and approving inspection reports and payment requests. Deep understanding of industry maintenance coding.

This is a fully onsite role Monday-Friday day shift at Fort Wayne Hospital. Candidates should have previous leadership experience and previous experience in a hospital environment.

Key Relationships: Facility Manager for Offsite Properties, Nursing, Dept of Public Safety, EVS

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

Associate's Degree in a technical or business discipline is required or equivalent years of experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Requires an in depth knowledge of hazardous material management, NFPA Life Safety Code, State Fire Marshall and NFPA 99 requirements.
  • Requires comprehensive understanding of codes and regulations associated with maintenance utility operation including the requirements of the JCAHO, SDOH, OSHA, and other federal, state and local agencies.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years relevant experience leading teams and 5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical or other utility systems.
