Join our team and play a critical role as we scale for rapid growth. You can be a game‑changer at Colovore.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a hands‑on Facilities Manager who will ensure our data center facilities operate at peak performance, uptime, and safety standards. This role will oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of critical infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems. The Facilities Manager will also manage and develop the Operations Engineering team, ensuring smooth execution of day‑to‑day facility operations, high‑quality customer support, and professional growth of team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and repair of critical facility systems (electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire suppression, security).
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and maximum uptime.
  • Monitor facility performance via BMS and CMMS systems, respond to alerts, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Operations Engineers, providing guidance on technical work, safety procedures, and customer interactions.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide training and mentorship for the operations team.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and service providers, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Lead incident response for facility‑related outages or emergencies; document incidents and corrective measures.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment specifications, SOPs, and compliance logs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Security teams on capacity planning, upgrades, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local/state/federal codes and standards.
  • Support construction and retrofit projects, including review of designs, schedules, and commissioning plans.
  • Develop and manage facilities operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.
Key Skills
  • Critical Infrastructure Management: Operate and maintain data center MEP systems with high availability requirements.
  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Develop and manage maintenance schedules to prevent downtime.
  • People Management: Lead, coach, and evaluate team performance; foster engagement and accountability.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management: Negotiate contracts, supervise work, and ensure service level compliance.
  • Compliance & Safety: Apply OSHA, NFPA, and industry safety practices in daily operations.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Lead resolution efforts for equipment failures or environmental alarms.
  • Budget Management: Plan and track facility operating expenses and capital projects.
  • Project Coordination: Support design, installation, and commissioning of facility upgrades.
  • BMS & CMMS Systems: Monitor and manage facility performance using automated systems.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate procedures, drawings, and logs.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in data centers, critical infrastructure, or high‑tech environments.
  • Proven hands‑on experience with electrical and mechanical systems in mission‑critical settings.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience leading technical teams.
  • Familiarity with liquid cooling systems and high‑density data center operations is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
  • Continuous uptime and reliability of all critical systems.
  • Operations Engineers are well‑trained, engaged, and delivering high‑quality customer support.
  • Facility operations meet or exceed compliance, safety, and performance standards.
  • Maintenance and upgrade projects delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption.
  • Clear, up‑to‑date documentation and SOPs are maintained.
  • Strong collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
