Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Facilities Management Director to oversee facilities operations and staff. This role includes performance management, HR-related issue resolution, hiring, and training, with budgeting for capital equipment, operations, and personnel.

The Director will develop short- and long-term goals, establish policies, ensure compliance, and lead projects in collaboration with senior administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or related field with supervisory experience (7 years) or 10 years without a degree.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is highly preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (Georgia) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff and employee performance.
  • Resolves HR-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff.
  • Provides ongoing performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies development needs.
  • Determines disciplinary actions and salary actions.
  • Develops short and long-term goals; guides hospital leadership toward facilities and operational objectives.
  • Establishes and administers policies and procedures; ensures compliance.
  • Identifies, implements, and scopes projects with senior administration.
  • Monitors project status, adjusts schedules and priorities.
  • Plans and monitors the department's capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets.

Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages staff and employee performance.
  • Resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff.
  • Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies and documents competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.
  • Determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions.
  • Monitors workflow. Develops short and long term goals and objectives; analyzes strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and constraints to give direction to hospitals' leadership in working toward meeting facilities and operational objectives.
  • Establishes and administers policies, procedures, and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines; reviews, revises, and communicates them to ensure compliance.
  • Identifies, implements, and determines the scope of projects in consultation with senior administration.
  • Monitors status of projects, adjusts schedules and priorities when necessary.
  • ssigns project areas and manages short and long term projects.
  • Plans, administers and monitors the department's capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets; regularly reviews year to date and prior budget expenditures; and takes corrective action as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or related field and seven years experience in engineering environment with supervisory experience, or ten years experience without a degree. Experience in a healthcare environment is highly preferred. Registered Professional Engineer (Georgia) preferred. May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.
