Job summary

Reliable Safety and Flow Corporation in Columbia, PA is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to support the foundry facility. You will perform plumbing, carpentry, electrical-light maintenance, and general repairs to keep equipment and buildings safe, clean, and productive.

This hands-on role requires safety-conscious individuals who can diagnose issues, execute repairs, and coordinate with external contractors while following PPE guidelines in a hot, noisy industrial environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, plumbing, or related field preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic to intermediate plumbing knowledge.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, hardware, and other handyman-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general facility maintenance and repairs throughout the foundry and supporting areas.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, including sinks, toilets, faucets, valves, drains, piping, and water lines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing leaks and other facility-related issues.
  • Perform general handyman duties, including drywall repair, painting, patching, caulking, door and hardware repairs, and minor carpentry.
  • Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, fixtures, shelving, and other building components.
  • Assist with basic electrical repairs and facility lighting within scope of training and authorization.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.

Description

The Facilities Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting the overall condition and functionality of the foundry facility. This role performs a variety of plumbing, handyman, building maintenance, and general facility repairs to help ensure the plant remains safe, clean, operational, and productive.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands-on individual who can identify maintenance needs, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs efficiently while working safely in a demanding industrial foundry environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general facility maintenance and repairs throughout the foundry and supporting areas.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, including sinks, toilets, faucets, valves, drains, piping, and water lines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing leaks and other facility-related issues.
  • Perform general handyman duties, including drywall repair, painting, patching, caulking, door and hardware repairs, and minor carpentry.
  • Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, fixtures, shelving, and other building components.
  • Assist with basic electrical repairs and facility lighting within the scope of training and authorization.
  • Maintain and repair shop fixtures, barriers, railings, guards, and other facility infrastructure.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of facility systems and building components.
  • Identify unsafe, damaged, or deteriorating conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from production, maintenance, and other departments.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects, installations, renovations, and equipment moves.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Work with outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
  • Work safely around foundry operations, including heat, noise, moving equipment, forklifts, machinery, and other industrial hazards.
  • Perform other facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, plumbing, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic to intermediate plumbing knowledge.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, hardware, and other handyman-related tasks.
  • Ability to safely use common hand tools and power tools.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
  • Manufacturing or foundry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, dusty, and noisy foundry environment.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
  • Ability to safely wear required PPE for extended periods.
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, or elevated areas when properly authorized.

This position works throughout an active foundry and industrial manufacturing facility. The Facilities Maintenance team may be exposed to significant heat, humidity, dust, noise, moving equipment, machinery, and other manufacturing-related hazards. Proper PPE, safety procedures, and awareness of the surrounding work environment are required at all times.
