Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Washington, DC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold the integrity of building systems. You will perform routine maintenance and minor repairs under the supervision of the Chief Engineer, providing hands-on support to ensure reliable operations of equipment.

Qualifications include HS Diploma or GED, technical or vocational training or 1–2 years of on-the-job experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing, plus familiarity with work order software and

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Technical or vocational training and/or 1–2 years of on‑the‑job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, or plumbing.
• Basic working knowledge of laptop and phone applications for work order and facility operation systems; basic skills with Microsoft Outlook.
• Possess engineering and trade licenses as required by local/state/national requirements.
• Familiar with fire/life safety equipment and procedures.
• Proven track record of excellent internal and external customer service; ability to interact with tenants/vendors/contractors, teammates, and leadership.
• Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements.
• Ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies as necessary.
• Proficient use and care of tools; read and write English to understand manuals and write reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in restroom facilities and general maintenance tasks as directed.
• Carry out general labor tasks: moving materials, debris removal.
• Safely travel for parts and supplies using employer vehicles, following traffic laws.
• Maintain and replace door hardware, basic furniture and floor maintenance, and light painting.
• Perform routine inspections and cleaning of engineering areas and equipment.
• Replace lamps, air filters, ceiling tiles, and fire extinguishers.
• Communicate professionally with teammates, vendors, tenants, and client staff; keep stakeholders informed.
• Interact with tenants, engineers, and contractors during maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE; ensure compliance with OSHA/NFC/NFPA regulations; report hazards.
