Facilities Maintenance Technician
General Summary
Under the leadership of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for executing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping of the Suwanee GA facility, including equipment, utilities, building systems, grounds, and all services required for daily operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and the facility in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues.
- Work independently, if necessary, to complete maintenance tasks following written instructions.
- Proficiently utilize hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and operate material handling equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair 0-480v electrical systems using your knowledge of electrical equipment, wire and component sizing, and electric meter usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
- Wear prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure safeguards are properly used.
- Report unsafe conditions and accidents promptly to ensure safety for yourself and others.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in industrial technology or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in relevant electrical and/or mechanical roles required; 5+ years preferred.
- Strong skills in electrical (3-phase, 480V, DC, 24V controls) and mechanical systems.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC systems, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Familiarity with electrical/mechanical drive technology (motors/gears).
- Ability to manage tasks independently with accountability and initiative.
- Experience with wiring diagrams and electrical measurement techniques.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and proprietary monitoring systems.
- Experience maintaining material handling systems in light industry or distribution environments preferred.
- Valid driver’s license; occasional driving may be required.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements:
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, interpret information, and perform basic math.
- Use hands to handle or feel objects.
- Sit, walk, or stand for up to 12 hours per day.
- Intermittently squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
- Visual acuity, including near, distance, and depth perception.
- Lift or carry items less than 50 pounds.
- Pass background and drug tests.
