Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks a maintenance professional to perform repairs and routine maintenance at the Joliet Job Corps Center in Joliet, IL. The role includes electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general structures work, with supervision of students in on-center projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency with technical training in maintenance and repair.
• One year of related experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair buildings, electrical, heating, plumbing, HVAC, and drainage systems.
• Repair or replace light fixtures, outlets, and fuses.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
• Repair or replace plumbing fixtures, washers and seals.
• Prepare surfaces for finishing (e.g., painting).
• Direct students assigned to on-center work experience.
• Perform routine maintenance checks of buildings and equipment.
• Check air conditioning and heating systems regularly.
• Provide positive customer service to students and staff.
• Participate in student employability programs.
• Support Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Promote Career Success Standards and mentor students.
• Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
