Job summary

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center in Bradenton, FL is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance across our behavioral health facility, ensuring safety and reliable operations for patients and staff.

This intermediate role covers carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, and preventive maintenance, with an emphasis on safety and adherence to regulations. Valid Florida driver license required; 2–3 years hospital-related maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a behavioral health or hospital setting.
• Must have valid, current Florida Driver License.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water/sewer systems, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• General facility maintenance including carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and HVAC components under supervision.
• Prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
• Follow safety practices, including PPE use, lockout/tagout and safe ladder/hand-tool operations.
• Navigate behavioral health environments while ensuring patient and staff safety.
• Communicate clearly with clinical staff, patients and vendors using service excellence principles.
