Job summary

Polytainers, a leading North American manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging, is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Technician II to support the safe, reliable operation of our facility’s building systems, utilities, and infrastructure.

This hands-on role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to minimize downtime and sustain uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 3-7 years in industrial facilities, utilities, or maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose and act independently.
• Experience with three-phase electrical systems, motors, VFDs, pumps, and rotating equipment.
• Experience with multiple facility utility systems (HVAC, chilled water, boilers, steam, BAS).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair facility and utility equipment failures.
• Maintain electrical systems; 480V three-phase power, motors, VFDs, relays, sensors, control circuits.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, piping, fans, bearings, and rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot major utility systems: chilled water, cooling towers, compressed air, HVAC, boilers, steam, and related equipment.
• Support BAS, facility controls, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Maintain facility electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, and building infrastructure.
• Install, modify, and commission electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Respond to emergencies; identify root causes and perform safe repairs.
• Maintain CMMS records and equipment history; aid in capital projects and contractor coordination.
