Job summary

Community Health Center of Snohomish County is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist II to perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance across CHC facilities. You will handle carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and flooring tasks, ensure a safe environment, and repair dental equipment as needed.

The role involves traveling between CHC facilities, coordinating with outside vendors, and supporting the Facilities Manager with small projects. A valid WA driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Reads, speaks, understands and writes proficiently in English.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS and BAS
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and independent judgment for skilled repairs.
  • Carpentry knowledge including shelves, furniture, sheet rock, FRP, flooring, woodwork and basic construction framing.
  • Plumbing knowledge including leaks, faucets, gaskets, pipes and diagnosing HVAC problems; coordinate with vendors.
  • Electrical knowledge including fixtures, ballasts, wiring diagrams; coordinate with vendors.
  • Read blueprints and manuals; use equipment diagrams.
  • Experience in locksmithing and door repairs.
  • Works independently and in teams; prioritizes tasks.
  • Follows safety procedures when using chemicals and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and troubleshoot facility repair issues.
  • Assist Facilities Manager with basic maintenance tasks and Preventive Maintenance Plan.
  • Perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other repairs.
  • Repair windows, doors, and related hardware; service entry devices.
  • Maintain grounds and handle routine outdoor maintenance.
  • Assist with painting and minor surface repairs.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for major repairs.
  • Oversee inventory and ordering of supplies; assist with vendor visits.
  • Support emergency repairs and relocation of office furniture.
  • Plan projects and assist with scheduling and completion.
