Job summary

Inotiv in Evansville, IN is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician II to support multiple facilities. The role covers routine maintenance, repairs on facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds to maintain a safe, clean, efficient work environment.

Schedule: First Shift, Mon-Fri 5:30a-2p; on-call as required. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical skills, safety focus, and the ability to work independently across indoor and outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; minimum 5 years' relevant experience in maintenance, construction, HVAC, and equipment repair.
• Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment repair.

Responsibilities

• Aid in maintaining all equipment both inside and outside.
• Routine painting inside and out.
• Able to work with contractors.
• Make necessary repairs in machinery and/or vehicles.
• Make routine checks in heating and air conditioning equipment to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Keep all areas clean and free of anything that would constitute a safety hazard or eyesore.
• Operate all vehicles and machinery necessary for groundskeeping.
• Perform general responsibilities common to the maintenance area as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
• Maintain confidential information.
• Interact with the community and employees.
• Support and participate in other company initiatives as directed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently across a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.

Schedule: First Shift, Monday - Friday 5:30a - 2p On-call requirement

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Aid in maintaining all equipment both inside and outside
• Routine painting inside and out
• Able to work with contractors
• Make necessary repairs in machinery and/or vehicles

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Physical Activity

• Ability to lift caging, etc. up to 50 lbs. to a height of at least 5 feet
• Work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Ability to walk over rough terrain
• Able to operate all vehicles and grounds keeping equipment (tractors, mowers, string trimmers, etc.)

Working Conditions

Frequent involvement with radiant/electrical energy, solvents, grease, oil, irritants, acids, bases, and other hazardous chemicals, electro-mechanical hazards, flammable materials, and biohazards.

Due to exposure to hazardous biological materials (which may include HIV positive specimens), immunization to diseases may be a required

Working outdoor in all seasons and weather conditions.

Working indoors

Mantoux TB test with negative result is required

Able to wear latex or nitrile gloves, dust mask and/or respirator, and safety glasses as required.

May be exposed to animal dander and/or material associated with animal husbandry

The noise level is usually moderate to loud requiring ear protection
