Job summary

Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge seeks a Maintenance Repairer 2 to ensure campus facilities are in working order. The role requires experience or a two-year technical program in building trades and involves repairing building interiors/exteriors, HVAC systems, locks, and various campus equipment.

The appointment type is Probational with a starting hourly salary of $19.67. Applications may be directed to Mikhale R.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Responsibilities

• Make general repairs to interiors and exteriors of buildings located on the SUBR Campus; make minor repairs to furniture, fixtures, air conditioning and heating systems; maintain and makes general repairs to variety of motorized equipment including tune-ups; repair, replace and/or make adjustments to worn or damage parts as it relates to mechanical issues.
• Assist with making adjustments or replacing locks; install locks as requested; assist the Maintenance Repairer Master with special projects as assigned or required.
• Make limited repairs to appliances, replace parts and make adjustments in the Food Service areas located on the SUBR Campus.
• Performs other related work as directed or required.

Education
