Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting, minor electrical and other trade work across Bienvivir facilities. Under supervision, you will document history of work performed in the maintenance system to ensure quality assurance and timely completion.

You will read blueprints, complete work orders, service HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and perform general construction tasks while maintaining site safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training preferred.
• Must have 3–5 years of on the job training experience in the field of Building Maintenance/Construction.
• Must be able to furnish own hand tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Must have a VALID Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and use hand, power, and shop tools for building maintenance.
• Complete and document work orders in the system.
• Perform general maintenance: assess needs, gather tools, fix issues.
• Conduct monthly HVAC/Facilities inspections and hazard checks.
• Service HVAC systems: replace filters, bands, weatherization.
• Repair plumbing: unclog drains, fix leaks, water heater work.
• Repair electrical: change bulbs, fixtures, ballast.
• Repair components per preventive maintenance schedule.
• Do construction tasks: wall fabrication, install windows/doors.
• Maintain pool equipment: check filters and pumps.
• Read and interpret blueprints and manuals.

Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Tech is to perform general plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting, minor electrical and a variety of other trade work in the maintenance and repair of Bienvivir facilities. History of said work performed is to be documented and recorded, utilizing maintenance work order system, to maintain quality assurance within the facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Operation and knowledge of hand, power and shop tools used in the course of construction, woodworking, and building maintenance such as power drills, saws, drill presses, joiners and painting equipment.
• 2. Complete work orders and document progress and status on work order, utilizing the maintenance work order system.
• 3. Perform general maintenance and repair i.e. assess situation, assemble necessary tools and materials.
• 4. Perform monthly routine walkthroughs to identify and report any issues with HVAC systems, water heaters, roofing, GFI outlets, dry vents, and emergency equipment. Complete Facilities Hazard Inspections.
• 5. Routinely service HVAC systems to include changing filters, bands, and weatherization process.
• 6. Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water heater repairs/installation.
• 7. Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, repairing ballast and light fixtures.
• 8. Repair building systems identified in preventive building maintenance schedule.
• 9. Perform general construction work to include wall fabrication, installation of windows and doors systems.
• 10. Preform maintenance of pool equipment to include assessing filter, motor and water circulation functions.
• 11. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals.
