Job Description Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I is a team player, championing the upkeep, reliability, and safety of all building systems and equipment. This role ensures that facilities run efficiently by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting repairs, and assisting with system installations. Acting as a key contributor to team success, the Facilities Maintenance Technician I drives operational excellence, promotes a safe work environment, and helps maintain the integrity and functionality of facilities critical to business operations.properties/facilities.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in one or more of the following areas: building construction, remodeling, doors & windows, plumbing, and concrete.
  • Minimum of three to four (3-4) years of experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance
  • Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Technical proficiency with work order management systems (CMMS)
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate's degree or vocational/technical school diploma preferred
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position requires a high level of building repair & mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include packaging and handling machinery, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop equipment, grounds equipment, and fire systems
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems
  • Ability to review, create, and maintain assigned work orders with associated paperwork within digital computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and can paint walls, piping, floors and equipment
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, perform both reactive & preventative maintenance
  • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, fire pumps and related fire protection system equipment
  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and grounds maintenance
  • Identify and work with potential outside contractors/vendors from sourcing to quotation to job completion
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned
  • Ability to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits
  • Complete all required safety training as scheduled weekly/monthly/annually
  • Comply with company dress code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours
