Job summary

QLI is seeking a skilled maintenance team member in Omaha to perform general maintenance across buildings and systems. The role requires hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks, plus safety-minded problem solving and reliable teamwork.

You will work full-time (40 hours/week) with on-call rotation and occasional overtime, supporting a mission-driven facility focused on care and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience is required.
• Knowledge of plumbing to address leaks and drainage problems.
• Electrical wiring capabilities to manage building electrical issues.
• Carpentry abilities for basic repairs.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with team members and clients.
• Attention to detail to complete jobs safely and thoroughly.
• Physical stamina to work a full shift in varying environments.
• Ability to work in tight/elevated locations (lifts, rooftops, ladders).
• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance around the buildings, including window, door, and wall repairs.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and replace or repair parts using mechanical know-how.
• Repair leaking plumbing to prevent water damage and restore fixtures.
• Maintain HVAC equipment to ensure climate control in the facility.
• Apply preventative measures to reduce future problems and safety hazards.
• Address safety hazards and maintain a safe work environment.
• Paint interior and exterior walls as needed.
• Use appropriate tools to diagnose, repair, or replace components.
• Assist groundskeeping team as needed and support operations.
• Continuously collect and analyze maintenance data to improve efficiency and processes.
