Job summary

Smithers Environmental Risk Sciences is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician at our Wareham, MA location. The role focuses on keeping facilities and equipment operational through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

You will perform preventative maintenance, inspect buildings, and respond to issues to minimize downtime, while ensuring safety, adherence to regulations, and accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, power tools, and maintenance software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and similar documents.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity for lifting and manual tasks.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on buildings and equipment, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, diagnose and replace defective parts.
• Maintain facilities, conduct minor carpentry, painting, drywall repairs, and snow removal.
• Ensure safety and compliance with regulations and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide on-call support as needed.
