Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Houston team.

This hands-on role covers electrical, mechanical and building systems, with a focus on safety, reliability and customer service. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on client facilities across the Houston area, while collaborating with maintenance staff and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 5 yrs related experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Customer interface (communications, problem solving, work prioritization & scheduling).
• Troubleshooting skills (diagnosing problems, taking meter readings, referring to manufacturer specifications).
• Electrical skills (changing and installing lights, outlets, minor electrical).
• HVAC / CRAC Units knowledge and PM activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general building maintenance tasks.
• Identify needed work, prepare work areas and execute tasks to ensure safety and continuity of operations.
• Oversee PM activities and subcontracted services as required.
• Conduct building inspections and respond quickly to customer needs and site conditions.

Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician. This position is a hands-on technician position responsible for performing work assignments, identifying needed work, preparing work areas and conducting work to ensure the safety of occupants, continuity of business operations, and the cleanliness of all work areas. The position will support locations in the Houston, TX area.

The company desires an individual with a high degree of focus on customer service, exceptional technical skill and an aptitude for facilities maintenance including electrical, mechanical, general building trouble-shooting, diagnosing, and repairs; along with executing preventive maintenance (PM) activities and including oversight of subcontracted services as required. The preferred candidate will be a hands-on technician, self-starter, dependable, have demonstrated knowledge in conducting building inspections, maintenance and repairs as well as ability to quickly learn client sites, buildings, systems, norms of operation, occupancy and conditions of use in order to anticipate and respond to customer needs and requirements responsibly and professionally. Candidate should speak and understand English well, be customer service oriented, a self-starter, reliable, flexible, conduct themselves in a professional manner, be able to make informed decisions, and have a willingness to learn.

Experience And Skills Required

• Requires minimum 5 yrs related experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Customer interface (communications, problem solving, work prioritization & scheduling)
• Troubleshooting skills (diagnosing problems, taking meter readings, referring to manufacturer specifications equipment guides)
• Install skills (doors & hardware, build stairs, place hardwood floors, drywall, finish & rough carpentry, sheet rock, hand rails, ceiling systems & trim) cofferedcorner guards, toilet partitions, upper & lower cabinets, countertops, wall paneling systems,
• Electrical skills (changing and installing lights, electrical outlets, lights, minor electrical, and troubleshooting)
• Familiarity with UPS / Emergency Generator and Fire / Life / Safety Systems
• HVAC / CRAC Units (PM, system monitoring, knowledge and familiarization)
• Plumbing skills, (minor restroom repair of toilets, sinks, and fixtures)
• Building skills, (doors & hardware, furniture & hardware, bulletin boards, etc.)
• Painting skills, (for touch-ups and misc.)
• Computer & Hand-held device skills, (email, scheduling, maintenance management, work order & PM’s)

Schedule

Full time; Day shift, Monday through Friday. Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
