Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair building systems, perform inspections, and respond to maintenance requests. The role requires hands-on skills, strong troubleshooting, and a proactive safety mindset.

You will work with external contractors as needed and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The position emphasizes routine preventive maintenance, record keeping, and the ability to read manuals and blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
• 5 years’ experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general upkeep tasks.
• Monitor building systems (lighting, heating, cooling, etc.) for efficiency and proper operation.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
