Job summary

HHS Government Services LLC in Columbia, SC is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive care on buildings and equipment at Fort Jackson Medical Treatment Facilities. The role requires a GED or high school diploma, at least three years in commercial maintenance, and ability to work indoors and outdoors.

You will patch walls, replace doors, and coordinate with the team to keep facilities safe and functional.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience performing general maintenance work in a commercial facility.
• Experience working in both indoor and outdoor building environments.
• Experience hanging doors, installing door locks, and replacing broken windowpanes preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand verbal or written direction from a lead, supervisor, or other craftsmen.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Uses plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Performs minor repairs or replacement to concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hangs doors, installs door locks, and replaces broken windowpanes.
• Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Performs touch-up painting or patching of walls.
• Works with team members to maintain the upkeep of the facility grounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
