Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Chester, Virginia, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of our senior living community. The role involves routine maintenance, repairs, and grounds care under the direction of the Maintenance Director.

Responsibilities include operating maintenance tools, painting, basic electrical work, and coordinating with residents and staff. This position requires physical stamina and flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years' experience in a maintenance role.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools and machines used in maintenance.
• Order materials and handle calls as directed.
• Make repairs to buildings, equipment, and appliances.
• Disassemble and move furniture around the community.
• Check logs and work orders for timely responses.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Paint surfaces as required.
• Maintain exterior grounds including landscaping.
• Transport residents safely in community vehicle.
• Assist with safety drills and vehicle maintenance.
• All other duties as assigned.
