Job summary

West Valley City seeks an entry-level maintenance worker to support remodels, repairs, painting, and general building upkeep across city facilities. The role includes assisting licensed staff, performing basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, and contributing to a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of general building maintenance, construction methods, and safe use of hand and power tools.
Ability to perform routine repairs and assist with tasks in one or more trades such as carpentry, painting, minor electrical, or drywall.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, drawings, and safety protocols.
Willingness to learn additional maintenance skills and assist licensed professionals.
Demonstrated reliability and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Remodel and construction projects as directed.
Patches and paints walls, trims, and doors.
Installs and repairs doors, demountable furniture, wall systems, counters, floors, framework, and trim.
Set up meetings, take down, and clean up.
Assists licensed and maintenance employees in inspecting facilities, doing preventative maintenance on equipment, and troubleshooting repairs.
Be available for on-call rotation and respond as necessary during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
