Job summary

Wayfair is seeking a General Maintenance / Facilities Maintenance team member to help keep a large-scale warehouse running safely and efficiently in Romeoville, IL. You will perform building maintenance, preventative care, and operate cleaning equipment while managing safety and documentation.

Responsibilities include repairs (carpentry, plumbing, painting), daily safety checks, battery changes where needed, and completing work orders with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic carpentry and maintenance experience.
• Proficient using hand and power tools and computers to perform required duties.
• Experience safely using warehouse equipment such as aerial lifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Regularly able to bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Flexible with working hours and willing to overtime; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Building maintenance and repair: carpentry, plumbing, painting.
• Preventative maintenance: daily/weekly checks and log sheets; safety device checks.
• Operate floor sweeper/scrubber to maintain facility floors.
• Battery management: operate battery changing station where applicable.
• Safety and compliance: follow OSHA and Wayfair safety policies.
• Complete work orders and records; assist Manager/Supervisor as needed.
