Job summary

King County is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Constructor to join the Building Operations Section in the Facilities Management Division. The role involves building maintenance and repair at the Clark Children’s Family Justice Center in Seattle and may support future vacancies across the division.

The position requires two years of relevant trade experience and proven ability to safely use tools, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate with other trades.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated work experience performing plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with safe use and proper care of tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of codes and means of compliance related to plumbing, electrical, construction, and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on facilities, buildings and equipment; respond to tenant requests.
• Repair and replace pipes, fixtures, faucets, sinks, toilets, fountains and valves.
• Do framing, siding, roofing; install insulation, windows and doors; finish sheetrock and paint.
• Maintain doors, hardware, locks, and re-glazing; modify equipment and wall/appurtenances.
• Apply protective coatings and perform painting on interiors/exteriors; operate related equipment.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate with other trades and outside agencies; perform custodial duties as needed.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties such as watering, mulching, debris and litter cleanup.
