Job summary

New Mexico Highlands University is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform painting, carpentry, and grounds duties to keep campus safe and presentable. The role includes light construction, window and door work, and coordination of materials via work orders.

The position is union-represented with probationary terms and requires availability for early or late shifts, including weekends and holidays. A New Mexico driver's license is required and pay starts at $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of paid maintenance-related work experience.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, odd hours, and overtime as required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing; sealing of moldings and trims.
• Install windows, doors, ceilings, and wall paneling.
• Inspect building interiors/exteriors, report repairs via work orders.
• Estimate and purchase materials as needed for tasks.
• Perform painting, refinishing, and equipment maintenance.
