Job summary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION is seeking a Maintenance Support Technician to perform a wide range of facility maintenance tasks at Turnpike facilities, including repairs, grounds upkeep, preventive inspections, and support for plumbing, electrical, HVAC and more. Responsibilities include after-hours work, setup of spaces, and coordination with the emergency response team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of painting and pressure washing techniques, cleaning supplies and procedures.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with minor maintenance repairs for Turnpike facilities, including remodeling and construction for hard-wall and cubicle office spaces, including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, HVAC, electrical, and flooring upkeep.
• Receive, complete & respond to general facility work order requests.
• Conduct detailed monthly preventive maintenance and daily routine inspections of grounds, irrigation, landscaping, and building interiors/exteriors inspection reports.
• Paint interior and exterior of buildings and complex. Pressure wash and seal exterior sidewalks, buildings, and curbing.
• Load and unload trucks (including surplus property) and move furniture or other heavy equipment.
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls on an as-needed basis. Night and/or weekend work will be required.
• Serve as a member of the emergency response team (fire drills, bomb threats, etc).
