The Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician 3 to join our dedicated Facilities team at the Cambridge City, IN site.

The Pay Range: $34-$40 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

The Schedule: Monday to Friday with a weekly 24-hour on-call rotation, typically once per week, including weekends.

The Role:
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician 3, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our site running safely and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of facility and production systems—including HVAC, boilers, water systems, emergency generators, BMS, fire life safety equipment, conveyors, and autoclaves. You'll also help oversee external contractors, respond to site alarms (including during on-call hours), and help develop and document maintenance procedures. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, physically demanding environment.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Inspecting, testing, operating and maintaining facilities systems such as HVAC, boilers, specialty water systems, compressed air, emergency generators, building management system and fire life safety.
  • Inspecting, testing, operating and maintaining production systems including tunnel washer, freezers, conveyors and autoclaves.
  • Monitoring and controlling facilities systems throughout the site through the building management system.
  • Interfacing and programming controls for the facilities, building and production equipment.
  • Inspecting, testing, operating, maintaining, installing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Responding to site alarms while onsite and when On Call. Able to respond to emergencies within 20 minutes.
  • Documenting work performed in the company CMMS.
  • Reviewing performance of facilities and production equipment and recommending repairs, major maintenance and replacement of components and systems.
  • Training facilities maintenance staff.
  • Development of site and global facilities standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate work performed by external Service Providers and Contractors
Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree or BOCEs CTE Program degree with a focus in Electrical Construction and Maintenance, Heating / Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Technical Services or equivalent.
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling required.
  • Forklift certification & valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a technical or specialized field, with a strong track record of resolving complex, non-standard issues and performing a broad range of maintenance tasks.
  • 15+ years technical expertise in facilities systems and production equipment maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with supervisors, cross-functional teams, and external contractors; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations, with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated success in managing shifting priorities and responding effectively to urgent issues in a dynamic environment.
  • Track record of protecting critical infrastructure and systems through proactive maintenance, risk mitigation, and attention to detail.
