Fleet Laboratories is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This position requires understanding role responsibilities and supporting facility operations through the application of higher-level facility maintenance skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical, compressed air, HVAC-R, plumbing, and other utilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Execute assigned work orders promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of facilities and equipment, including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and roofs.
  • Install electrical conduit, boxes, disconnects, breakers, lighting fixtures, and make wire terminations.
  • Size and install new electrical services.
  • Work with 480/277 and 208/120 VAC, three-phase power, and related equipment.
  • Recommend safety, efficiency, and process improvements.
  • Use test instruments to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, or HVAC-R systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with medium pressure steam boilers and systems.
  • Support pipe fitting and support for various materials.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using appropriate test instruments.
  • Maintain safe and organized work environments.
  • Safety: Lead by example in safety practices, follow policies, and report hazards.
  • Attendance and Dependability: Be punctual, dependable, and willing to work overtime and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Conduct: Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and support company goals.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Education and Experience
  • Knowledge of electricity, electrical safety, NEC, NFPA-70E, and circuit controls.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools like multimeters and clamp ammeters.
  • Basic familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, building automation, and networking.
  • Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Understanding of HVAC-R principles and refrigerant handling.
  • Ability to read measurement devices and use hand and power tools safely.
