About LPSD

We design and manufacture Cat C27, C32, 3400, 3500, C175, 3600 and C280 platforms; Perkins 4000 series and 5000 series platforms and MWM gas engine platforms, drivetrains and engine system components.

Through our global organization, we design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains. The large engine product portfolio includes Cat, Perkins, and MWM branded products. Applications include Cat machines, electric power generation, marine, oil & gas, industrial, and locomotive.

Role Definition:

The Facilities Technician supports all aspects of facilities maintenance for buildings and grounds, including auxiliary equipment for life safety systems, production, general building maintenance, compressed air, cooling towers, HVAC systems, lighting, restrooms, water systems, grounds maintenance, etc.

Responsibilities:

1. Drive a culture of safety & process excellence.
2. Create and assist Facilities Engineering in executing PM plans and work orders.
3. Maintain building equipment through PM and corrective maintenance.
4. Use CMMS for capturing work orders and managing building assets.
5. Perform daily rounds for PM checks and maintenance.
6. Have working knowledge of compressors, fire suppression, emergency systems, lighting, alarm systems, HVAC, security badge systems, turnstiles, fencing, gates, dock doors, landscaping, etc.
7. Possess working knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 600V.
8. Operate skid steer and light equipment (preferred).
9. Coordinate with vendors or contractors for repairs or installations.

1. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies.
2. Assist in planning and executing facility improvement projects.
3. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
4. Repair or replace faulty equipment using hand and power tools.
5. Use carpentry skills for constructing, repairing, or maintaining structures.

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Problem Solving: Expert knowledge of recognizing, anticipating, and resolving facilities issues.
• Facilities Preventive Maintenance: Extensive knowledge of building equipment and scheduled maintenance.
• Tools Application: Ability to use voltmeters, hand tools, diagnostics, pressure devices, etc.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels.
• Print Reading: Ability to interpret electrical schematics and building drawings.

Preferred Certifications:

• HVAC certification (plus).
• EPA license for HVAC work (plus).

Additional Information:

• Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM, with possible flex hours.
• Overtime may be required for emergencies or projects.
• This is an on-site position in Hodges, SC.
• Pay rate: $27-31 per hour, depending on experience and education.

$27.30 - $34.70
