Job summary

Life Care Centers of America seeks a Maintenance Assistant to provide quality maintenance functions at our Indiana facility, complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

The role supports preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections, with emphasis on patient wellbeing and a clean, safe environment. Strong basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge is preferred, along with reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of local building codes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
• Inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety.
• Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
