Job summary

YAI in West Milford, NJ is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The role involves routinely assessing equipment and structures, performing routine and emergency repairs, and troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues to keep programs running safely and efficiently.

The position requires coordinating with supervisors, purchasing supplies, moving furniture, and reporting hazards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months related experience with minor repairs and tool use.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and use hand/power tools.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized and multitask.
• Knowledge of common appliances and devices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair facility equipment and structures.
• Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repair.
• Perform routine and emergency repairs and report escalations.
• Communicate maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Purchase supplies and manage tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
• Move furniture and large items as needed.
• Travel between YAI facilities to purchase/transport supplies.
• Operate YAI vehicles when required.
• Attend training and safety programs.
• Adhere to safety and OSHA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
