POSITION TITLE: Facility Maintenance Technician

REPORTS TO: General Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

COMPENSATION: $19.00 - $25.00 an hour DOE

PURPOSE

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and systems within the facility. They ensure health, safety, and operational procedures are followed to enhance the member experience, maintaining smooth and efficient facility operations.

The ideal candidate is engaging, diligent, organized, results-driven, and possesses excellent customer service skills. Collaboration is key in this role.

DELIVERABLES

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Communication: Provide daily verbal updates and status reports to the General Manager, document work completed, and seek feedback on work quality and maintenance needs.
• Scheduling & Planning: Coordinate with the General Manager to schedule and verify completion of maintenance tasks.
• Inspection and Testing: Regularly inspect and test equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Safety: Maintain safety for members, staff, and assets through equipment inspection, club walks, and communication with leadership.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in equipment and systems.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance as outlined in the CMMS system.
• Repairs: Repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
• Work Orders: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
• Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inventory, and update work orders daily in the CMMS system.
• Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and test building systems for optimal performance.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain cardio, weight, and general workout equipment, including assembly, painting, and refurbishing.
• Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance issues promptly.
• Team Collaboration: Work with management, staff, contractors, and vendors as needed.
• General Upkeep: Perform tasks such as patching, painting, carpentry, and groundskeeping.
