Job summary

The Masonic Homes of California is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to support daily operations, safety, and upkeep of campus buildings, grounds, and systems. You will handle routine preventative and corrective maintenance, assist with inspections, and collaborate with staff, contractors, and vendors to keep facilities safe and efficient.

Requires a high school diploma or GED; 1–3 years in facilities maintenance; basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical cert preferred.
  • 1–3 years in facilities maintenance or related field.
  • General building maintenance knowledge: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
  • Ability to operate tools safely and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily facilities inspections and address maintenance issues.
  • Complete preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies promptly.
  • Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors and document work orders.
