Priority StaffCorp is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support a PK3–8 school campus in Tulsa. You will perform hands-on maintenance across buildings, grounds, and facility systems, ensuring safety and reliability throughout the year.

The role requires a few years of maintenance experience, ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to identifying and repairing issues. This is a full-time, year-round position with opportunities to support school events.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or related field.
  • Trade school or technical training is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems.
  • Able to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Able to prioritize tasks with limited supervision.
  • Dependable, organized, and safety-conscious.
  • 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs across campus buildings and outdoor areas.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders.
  • Diagnose plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical system issues.

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to help keep a school campus safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role involves a variety of hands-on maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance duties across buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility systems.

The ideal candidate has experience in general maintenance, construction, facilities, or a related trade and is comfortable working independently to identify problems and make necessary repairs. This position will also provide support for school activities and special events throughout the year.

Key Duties
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout campus buildings and outdoor areas
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders
  • Diagnose issues involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building components
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to help keep equipment and facility systems operating properly
  • Monitor buildings and grounds for potential hazards, needed repairs, or safety concerns
  • Assist with inspections and maintenance of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and other critical facility equipment
  • Maintain tools, equipment, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies
  • Help track supplies and assist with ordering parts and materials when needed
  • Prepare rooms and common areas for meetings, athletic activities, performances, and other school functions
  • Set up and remove tables, chairs, equipment, and other event materials
  • Document completed work, inspections, and maintenance activities
  • Communicate facility concerns and repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Work professionally with school employees, students, visitors, and other maintenance personnel
  • Assist with additional facility and grounds projects as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, building maintenance, or a related field
  • Trade school or technical training is preferred
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work with limited supervision
  • Dependable, organized, and safety-conscious
  • Able to communicate effectively with staff and members of the school community
  • A 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk and remain active throughout a large school campus
  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year
  • Must be comfortable working in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions
  • Ability to safely work around mechanical equipment and complete physically demanding maintenance tasks
