Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain small to mid-size buildings and industrial systems as part of Engineering and Technical Services. You will deliver preventive maintenance, repairs, and support for building equipment.

You will inspect systems, diagnose issues, assist with installations, and ensure energy efficiency and safety compliance across the portfolio. This role is on-site in San Diego, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, diagnose issues, and implement repairs.
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Conduct building walk-arounds to understand portfolio layouts and functionality.
• Investigate faults and identify remedies.
• Review work orders and track completion with available systems.
• Support energy management by ensuring systems operate efficiently.
• Inspect installations for compliance with codes and safety regulations.
• Follow defined procedures to solve straightforward problems and communicate clearly.
• Ensure corrective/repair work complies with current regulations.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do:

• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Conduct building walk arounds to develop a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio buildings their layouts, functions and complexities
• Investigate faults, identify causes and effect remedies
• Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
• Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
• Ensure corrective / repair works are carried out in accordance with current regulations
• Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance
