Job summary

Stryten is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment, grounds, and structures on 1st shift. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn plumbing, welding, electrical, and hydraulic systems are important.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, collaborating with maintenance teams, performing basic mechanical tasks, keeping work areas clean, and maintaining compliance with quality systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical skills required.
• Knowledge of natural gas train systems preferred.
• Manufacturing/industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently in a timely manner.

• Comply with all safety and health policies and procedures.
• Work with other Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Mechanics.
• Perform basic mechanic jobs and clean parts.
• Demonstrate ability to learn plumbing and pipe fitting.
• Demonstrate ability to learn basic welding of plastics and metals.
• Demonstrate ability to learn basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Must be able to communicate in simple English to receive instructions, interact with supervisor, and understand repair manuals and work orders.
• Follow all procedures with regard to lock out/tag out and confined space entry.
• Acquire a license to operate Sit-down Fork lift, Boom Lifts, and Scissor Lifts.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Comply with current Quality System requirements.
• Perform other work as assigned by the supervisor.
• Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position, and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter.

• Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position, and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter. The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed. The training shall consist of a review of proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements.
• Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional heavy lifting of 50 pounds, routine lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous standing, walking, and bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching, for 12 hr. shifts. Repetitious work.
• Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Withstand occasional exposure to extreme environmental conditions such as heat, cold, odors, and dust.
• Ability to climb ladders, squat, bend, and work in confined spaces.
