OVERVIEW:
Switch Communications is a datacenter collocation company that is headquartered in Las Vegas. They have grown nationally over the past 5 years, and continue to grow, and now have locations in Reno, Michigan, Atlanta, and Texas. They provide space and technology services to their customer base such as internet connectivity.
ROLE:
The Data Center Operations (DCO) Systems Technician I- will work as a team player to provide support of all maintenance, operations, and expansion efforts; including critical infrastructure of power, cooling systems, communications, and facilities. Also, completing preventative maintenance as planned by Systems Management.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* Responsible for and maintain 100% critical systems uptime
* Train towards becoming a First Responder to critical infrastructure alarms
* Accurate and timely completion of work orders
* Handle different tool and equipment with precision
* Adhere to Switch Safety Policies and Procedures
* Work with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets Switch standards
* Assist in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions
* Perform assigned collateral duties and tasks assigned by management staff
* Attend assigned meetings and training. Maintain professional appearance
Required Skills
* Some knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
* Knowledge of data center, safety, electrical, and cooling designs
* Must follow established safety practices and procedures in applicable situations
* Ability to work any shift in a 24x7x365 Operation, including weekends and holidays
* Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess basic typing, email, and computer skills
*Pay and Benefits*
The pay range for this position is $59000.00 - $59000.00/yr.
