Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Rockford, IL is seeking a hands-on maintenance worker responsible for property upkeep, landscaping, light carpentry, welding, plumbing, painting and overhead door repair.

You will inspect the Service Center, perform safety inspections, general cleaning, and troubleshoot issues while following safety rules; occasional night or weekend shifts may be required.

Strong teamwork, the ability to read work orders and manuals, and a reliable attendance record are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in janitorial and general maintenance preferred; welding, cutting, plumbing, painting, overhead door repair and industrial experience helpful.
• Stable employment history.
• Transportation experience is a plus.
• Ability to interpret work orders and manuals.
• Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must follow all safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform property maintenance and landscaping.
• Perform light carpentry.
• Welding, cutting, plumbing, painting and overhead door repair.
• Inspect and perform maintenance within the Service Center building.
• General cleaning (sweeping, mopping, buffing, dusting).
• Troubleshoot and correct problems.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
• Regular attendance is required.
• All duties as assigned per business needs.
