Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description Summary
Responsible for assisting with operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC.
- Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
- Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
- Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and perform painting on walls, piping, floors, and equipment.
- Evaluate maintenance operations and recommend upgrades or savings opportunities.
- Use and care for tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety issues or malfunctions, and perform preventative maintenance.
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms and fire pumps.
- Perform carpentry and snow removal as needed.
- Follow all applicable codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Utilize technology such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and building automation systems.
- Complete all required safety training and adhere to uniform dress code.

Experience and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
- Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Basic skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role involves working in a professional office environment, operating standard office equipment, and performing physical tasks such as moving about the workplace and handling tools and equipment.
