Job summary

Job description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Moses Lake facility by performing routine and preventive maintenance, minor repairs, facility inspections, and general facility support.

This position works under the direction of the Facilities Manager and is responsible for completing assigned maintenance activities, identifying developing facility issues, and ensuring recurring maintenance requirements are accomplished on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive and recurring facility maintenance.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety, or infrastructure concerns.
  • Perform minor building, equipment, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance repairs within level of qualification.
  • Troubleshoot basic facility and equipment issues and elevate repairs requiring specialized support.
  • Complete facility work orders and maintain required maintenance records.
  • Support maintenance and upkeep of hangars, shops, offices, exterior areas, and facility infrastructure.
  • Assist with facility modifications, equipment installation, workspace changes, and improvement projects.
  • Maintain facility tools, equipment, materials, and maintenance supplies.
  • Coordinate with and provide on-site support to contractors and service providers as directed.
  • Support facility safety, environmental, housekeeping, FOD, and 5S requirements.
  • Respond to urgent facility needs while maintaining responsibility for assigned recurring work.
  • Support snow removal, weather preparation, and other seasonal facility requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

High school diploma or equivalent required. Two or more years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, construction, mechanical trades, or a related field preferred.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company, a foreign government, foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

This safety-sensitive position is covered by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a "safety-sensitive" position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be required based on specific circumstances.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of general building maintenance and basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate common hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Basic computer skills for work orders, maintenance records, and communication.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $46,000.00 - $ 58,000.00 . Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
